A Margue of Success

Small point-of-purchase turntables from British Turntable made a hit at the Ferrari National Concourse recently, when Autodromo used four units to revolve their one-eighth scale models in an eye-catching display.

The 2’ long models are incredibly detailed; displaying them on turntables allowed the enthusiasts at the concourse to scrutinize each one from every angle without having to move round the plinths on which they were mounted, which can be tricky at busy shows.

Autodromo, a company specialising in the manufacture, under licence, of finely-crafted Ferrari model cars, is over the moon with the difference movement has made in making its displays more attractive to potential customers. Harriet Addyman of Autodromo says, “The effect is stunning. The turntables bring the models to life and engage anyone who sees them. It really is fantastic how they have enhanced the way we present our products and how they reinforce the high quality brand image that Ferrari enjoys.”

The point-of purchase turntables used by Autodromo are available from British Turntable’s increasingly popular range of standard, off-the-shelf movement options, which now number more than 100. One of the main attractions of using movement in display is that sales can increase significantly: by more than 30%, according to research conducted by POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International). In the retail environment and at exhibitions and shows movement adds prominence to a brand or promotion, creating a visual stimulus to purchase; high value items will therefore sell more quickly, as will previously slow-moving products or ‘ends-of-lines’, keeping profits up and enabling a quick turn-round of stock.
