Award Winning Design
An exhibition stand designed and built in the USA for north American trade shows and incorporating a bar revolving on a 4.5m diameter unit supplied by British Turntable has won a gold design award at the USA's Exhibitor Magazine's 15th Annual awards. The 60'x70' island stand, which was fabricated for cable TV network company, Rainbow Media Holdings by British Turntable customers, Freddie Georges Production Group (FGPG) of Garden Grove, California, 'reflects the judges' preference for clean, innovative design that clearly transmits clients' messages', according to the American trade publication, Exhibitor Magazine.
With a capacity of two tonnes, the British Turntable revolve was supplied with variable speed and an open centre to allow for bar spillages to drain away safely. The specification also makes the revolve extremely versatile; once the current exhibition tour is over it can easily be used to revolve other products, such as motor vehicles. Dave Bryant, who supervised the installation of the turntable for FGPG, is very enthusiastic about the reliability and effectiveness of the British Turntable revolve. "You can imagine how badly FGPG wanted this bar set-up," he writes. "For the first show, a unit rented locally in the States failed to function at all. There weren't enough wheels, and the single motor drive was at the hub, not able to handle the torque. The British Turntable unit is flawless, and they all love it. The slow, slow rotation under load is very key. Thanks again."
With more than 40 years experience in the movement industry, British Turntable Co is no stranger to providing revolves for product launches and 'reveals', and the company is therefore a popular choice for designers in the exhibitions, TV, film and video industries. British Turntable's engineering expertise extends from manufacturing simple, portable revolving stages up to 10m in diameter, to designing and building complex, custom-built rotary and linear movement, sometimes incorporating air film technology. Key to all the company's products is their reliability, their smooth, quiet operation and the advice and support offered by the company's marketing and technical design teams.
