British Turntable Demonstrates an Eye for Design
A British Turntable revolve specified by Brinkworth Design is creating a stylish and eye-catching window display of the latest designer fashions at the Karen Millen outlet in South Moulton Street, London.
The 2.5 metre diameter Maxi Carousel display turntable was chosen for its ability to carry large displays, and the unit at Karen Millen, with its attractive mirrored top and sides, is particularly striking because of the sheer size of the display. The movement opens up the curved window at the entrance to the store, bringing the area to life and at the same time allowing more merchandise to be displayed tastefully than would be possible with a static display.
The revolving display is proving to be very powerful at stopping passers-by and encouraging them to enter the store: Howard Smith of Brinkworth Design is delighted with the effect, and Dale Higgins, Shop Project Manager for Karen Millen and Whistles, has reported excellent feedback from store staff. "Shoppers already in the store linger longer looking at the display," he says, "and it is especially effective after dark, when it shines out like a beacon, making it visible from some way down the street."
Fitted with a forward and reverse switch and variable speed (0.6-1.1rpm) option, the revolve can be used anywhere in the store to attract footfall to different areas as shoppers will naturally follow the direction of the movement. Seasonal displays can easily be achieved using the carousel, and specific promotions or new trends highlighted as fashions change.
The Maxi Carousel, one of more than 100 standard display movement products in the British Turntable portfolio, is a particularly effective at displaying fashion because of its size and capacity. Available in three diameters, 1.5 metre, 2.5 metres and 3 metres, it can also display a wide range of large or heavy goods and merchandise safely and cost-effectively. Supplied with 5 amp slip rings as standard to provide electrical power on the rotating platform for feature lighting or special effects, the revolve can be combined with other movement to create more complex integrated combinations.
