British Turntable Formula for CAFÉ GRAND PRIX
An automotive turntable supplied by British Turntable is creating the spirit of the Monaco Grand Prix right in the heart of London's West End.
The Café Grand Prix, situated on Berkeley Street, comprises a suite of three superb eating and drinking experiences styled on original locations in Monaco. At the centre of the Pit Brasserie is a glass display case featuring a real racing car revolving on a British Turntable Merlin Major 21 display turntable, setting the scene not only for the brasserie but also for the location's belle époque-styled French restaurant, La Rascasse, and the elegant Rosie's Bar below. Because it is simple to position a car on the turntable, the display is changed regularly to show off racing machines from all eras of the Grand Prix.
The moving centrepiece combines well with the chrome, leather and aluminium styling of the brasserie to create interest and a very special ambience. The Merlin Major 21 is popular the world over for its versatility on the forecourt, in the showroom, at exhibitions, special displays and car launches, museums, heritage venues and visitor centres. Virtually invisible in operation, the unit, with its central drive unit and wheel support pads, allows the car to be rotated as if by magic, creating an eye-catching display and drawing attention to the show car. Robust, compact and extremely cost-effective, the Merlin Major is totally portable and can even be used outdoors, operating from the car's own 12 volt battery.
British Turntable also offers a portable full platform revolve for automotive display, the Olympian 4.5, as well as a range of revolving stages from 2m to 10m in diameter. All units are available for short term hire if required.
The company is highly experienced in the manufacture of automotive display turntables, which they have been designing since they received a request for a showroom display unit in 1959. Committed to quality, British Turntable has recently become one of only a few organisations to be registered to the updated BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 standard.
