Central Attraction at SED
A CU25 turntable unit hired from British Turntable Co helped exhibition design and project management company, Wilson Brown create a major impact at the annual outdoor SED (Site Equipment Demonstration) show in Milton Keynes.
Supplied from stock, the 5m diameter, 7.5 tonne capacity unit was used to draw attention to the latest Caterpillar Backhoe Loader, the central attraction of the company's large external stand. Despite somewhat moist conditions underfoot, the turntable was installed without fuss and performed perfectly during the three days of the show.
"It was a fantastic benefit to our clients as this was the first time a turntable had been used to launch a new product at SED," says Amanda Brown. "We were really delighted with the service from British Turntable, as well. Not only did they respond quickly to our enquiry with a cost-effective solution, they supplied the unit with decking and delivered and collected it promptly. All we had to do was supply a man on site to help with installation and they did all the rest."
The CU25 is from a versatile range of robust, reliable turntable units that can accommodate heavy loads and operate outside on uneven or rough ground. The height and diameter of the units can be amended economically, and the self-supporting cantilever structure is designed for easy installation and set-up with a fork lift truck or HIAB. All accessories, including the drive motor gearbox, powered clutch mechanism and slip ring assembly are fully protected from the vagries of the weather in the centre of the unit.
Available for sale or hire from depots throughout the UK and Europe, the CU range offers the added benefit of options such as static centre, hesitation and oscillation, to create a complex integrated moving display that is dynamic and eye-catching.
British Turntable offers a wide range of turntables and other movement for hire that are ideal for exhibitions, temporary displays in the heritage sector and special effects for the TV, video and film industry.
