Design For Success!
Heritage and visitor centres are being given hints and tips on how to make their venues more attractive and exciting in a new publication from British Turntable, Design for Success. Design for Success and its sister publication, Reveal for Heritage and Leisure, cover everything from display to moving visitors through multi-media presentations to revolving signage. The focus is on creating a dynamic, living environment by using simple rotary or linear movement.
In display this can simply mean rotating a special exhibit on a low-cost, low capacity turntable unit. To draw attention to information points, attractive signs rotating from a ceiling-mounted revolve will highlight the relevant area. More substantial, however, are the custom-designed and -built revolves that have been used to transport visitors through the Home Planet zone of the Millennium Dome or at the Bailey's Icon Centre in Dublin, creating a very special experience for visitors and at the same time controlling the number of visitors entering the presentation area at any given time. The two publications demonstrate some of the design successes that British Turntable customers all over the world have achieved by drawing on the practical and creative experience offered by the company's marketing and technical design teams, experience they have built up over the 42 years British Turntable has been creating movement for the retail, engineering, exhibitions, TV, film and video, aerospace and automotive industries worldwide.
