Maxi Carousel Opens Up Shopping Centre

A 2 metre diameter Maxi Carousel revolve from British Turntable Co has brightened up a quiet mall at the Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill, West Midlands, creating a focal point and attracting more customers to the area.

The turntable has been installed in a secure kiosk and is being used by upmarket wedding outfitters, Wedding Connections, to display top-of-the-range wedding apparel, giving customers an all-round view of the latest fashions. As the revolve continuously turns, the display changes, attracting customers to the sales area. The revolve allows Wedding Connections to show a tasteful yet comprehensive range of items in a relatively small area, at the same time making it easy to vary the display to reflect different seasons or changing trends. A second kiosk in the Wedding Connections area, complete with turntable, displays a wide range of shoes, tiaras and other accessories to create a one-stop shop for the perfect wedding.

According to the centre's marketing manager, Carla Whelan, the turntable has enabled the centre to make better use of space. The mall where the kiosk and turntable are now situated was not large enough to accommodate a full unit, and the area would have otherwise been redundant. "It's an excellent use of space within a centre, especially when landlords are looking to maximise revenue opportunities by using space well. The Maxi Carousel turntable has helped us do that. We are now looking at other areas that will benefit from this type of movement and make the centre even more attractive for our customers to visit."
