Merlin Makes Magic on St Lucia
Automotive distributor, Beachcomber Limited of St Lucia, is weaving magic at automotive shows in the eastern Caribbean with help of a Merlin Major 21 display turntable from British Turntable.
The world renowned Merlin was initially chosen by Beachcomber's Kenneth Ragnanan as an elegant way of attracting visitors to their stand at Autofest 2003. "The turntable helped us tremendously at Autofest, where we used it to display a Mercedes C200 Kompressor," says Beachcomber. "The use of movement was an outstanding feature, creating a welcoming environment for our customers to view our luxury vehicles in style."
The Merlin was particularly appropriate for this outdoor show as it can be operated from the car's own 12v battery if required, thus avoiding trailing wires. Mounted on a small podium, it raised the profile of the Beachcomber stand by creating an eye-catching, effective crowd-puller. As the construction of the revolve makes it highly portable, it will also be ideal for use throughout Beachcomber's dealer network of luxury Mercedes, Toyota and Lexus cars for showroom launches, special promotions, road shows and exhibitions.
Virtually invisible in operation, the robust and versatile Merlin Major 21 allows cars to be rotated as if by magic and is used by most of the major car manufacturers worldwide. British Turntable, which was founded in 1959 on a single request for an automotive turntable, also offers the full platform Olympian 4.5, an elegant and attractive portable option for the showroom or exhibition, and a variety of revolving stages that can be surface mounted or flush-fitted for added style and elegance, whatever the setting or venue.
