Mini Makes its Move at Thinktank

An early model of the world-famous Mini is making a move at Birmingham's Thinktank Museum, thanks to a standard automotive showroom turntable supplied by British Turntable Co.

The smooth, quiet rotation of the Olympian 3.5 draws extra attention to the Mini, a popular feature of the 1970-2000 section at Thinktank, a new museum of science and discovery and the main visitor attraction at Millennium Point, England's largest millennium project outside London. The turntable also allows the Mini to be displayed to full advantage without making excessive demands on floorspace. Because the Mini is turning constantly, visitors are treated to an all-round view from a single vantage point.

Olympian automotive display turntables are a valuable asset to any museum or exhibition requiring a versatile, portable and cost-effective unit to display vehicles or other large items. The Olympian 4.5 in particular offers superb flexibility, its 4.5m diameter and large capacity making it easy to display large items up to 2000kg in weight. The range has gained ready acceptance across the world in showrooms and exhibitions because the units combine elegance with ease of installation: delivered with an attractive reversible melamine-faced MDF deck in granite / grey, variable speed and an optional kerb surround, they can be moved around the display area to change focus and mood without the need for specialist fitters.

Automotive turntables from British Turntable are popular the world over for their reliability and cost-effectiveness; indeed the company was founded on a single demand for a showroom turntable more than 40 years ago. In addition to the Olympian range British Turntable also offers the Merlin Major 21, a particularly economical and versatile unit that is practically invisible in operation, and a variety of revolving stages that can be surface mounted or flush-fitted for added style and elegance, whatever the setting or venue. All are available for short-term hire if preferred. British Turntable is committed to quality and is accredited to the world-recognised quality standard, ISO 9001.
