Shop In Shop Movement Attracts Attention

Retail Effects of Leicester have created a number of attractive in-store displays for Tag Heuer watches using B200 turntables from British Turntable to add more excitement and appeal to the displays.

Working with Tag Heuer's design consultants, Mono Design, Retail Effects developed and manufactured bespoke display cabinets as part of an initial contract to provide shop-in-shop facilities at a number of jewellers across the UK, including Beaverbrooks in Edinburgh, Jamieson and Carry in Aberdeen, Prestons of Bolton and Goldsmiths in Southampton. The Prestons store was an enhanced site that included a new feature ceiling, display lighting, timber flooring and wall panels. Following the initial installation, however, Tag Heuer decided that a revolving display would add more appeal to the product, and Retail Effects turned to British Turntable when undertaking the modification and site installation of nine towers at the various venues. Says Les Ryder of Retail Effects, "We chose the B200 because it's so reliable and capable. The central core display, loaded with watches, is some 90cm tall, but this is no problem for the B200; it revolves the display smoothly and quietly." The B200 is part of British Turntable's versatile Carousel range of revolves. British Turntable Carousels offer a cost-effective means of creating attractive, eye-catching moving displays that research shows can increase sales by more than 30% over a static display.

As well as the B200, the range includes the highly popular Mini Carousel (the blue 'n), and the larger Midi and Maxi Carousels, thereby offering, in a single range, display potential from the lightest of loads up to a capacity of 700kg and 244cm tall. The Carousel portfolio is further enhanced by a range of ceiling-suspended units that allow retailers to create exciting revolving displays or introduce effective, dynamic signage in a way that maximises the display area without creating clutter. British Turntable Co has been serving the moving display industry worldwide for more than 40 years and now offers the retail industry a large portfolio of rotary, pendulum and oscillator units for the point of purchase and general display. Turntables are available from 12cm in diameter upwards. Smaller units that are battery- or solar-powered increase the options available for windows, difficult-to-access corners and other restricted spaces as they do away with trailing wires and, at the same time, save on display space. Amongst the company's customers are major high street stores including the famous London department store, Harrods, independent retailers and retail outlets at museums and heritage centres.
